This works best with a long straight-away at the beginning of a race and tracks that are more wide.

Once the race starts, go near to the edge of the track and drive along the edge while staying on the track, you will pass multiple cars because most bots/TSM do not go to the edge of the track when the race starts(You might have one or two a time here and there, but most do not ever go to the edge). You can usually get to 1st place right away or at least the top 10 right away if done properly. My wife and I do this all the time and we usually get to 5th to 1st place before turn 1. I have better luck going to the right edge than I do the left edge but play around with this to get a feel for driving along the edge when the race starts to see which side works best for you.
