Updating to iOS 7 while still in 1.1.2

I am still on version 1.1.2 and was wondering if anyone has had problems staying with version 1.1.2 when they updated to iOS 7?  I have heard a few apps will not run on iOS7 unless they are updated (NY TImes app being one), and am worried that 1.1.2 will not run properly on iOS7.  I want to stay in 1.1.2 until I have it completed.  

 

Any info is appreciated.  Thanks.
